Medisoft Error 6420: Unable to Discover the Advantage Database Server
This Medisoft error appears when the Advantage application is unable to connect to the Advantage Database Server (ADS). This error is generally brought about by one of the following issues:
1. The ADS is not started or installed on your Server. Solution: restart your server or start the Advantage Database Service 2. The client may be connecting via a wireless network. The signal can drop or have issues causing this error. A wired network is highly recommended. 3. Client computer may have some form of sleep/hibernation/power saving enabled. Disable all sleep/hibernation settings to see if it helps. 4. Server may have dual NIC interfaces. Attempt to disable unused interface to see if that helps. 5. Windows Firewall may be blocking the incoming connections on the server. Disable Windows Firewall or add exceptions to executable files located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Advantage XX.XX\Server.
